INTRODUCING AMY
We’re delighted to welcome RN Veteran and Reservist Amy Foster as our new Head of Welfare and Women’s lead. Since leaving service, Amy has worked in patient assessment and care provision for a number of private health companies. She’ll oversee our care pathways and provision, beneficiary monitoring and will be running our Artemis (women only) programmes.

“I’m really excited to be joining such an innovative and well-respected charity” says Amy, “it’s remarkable what Veterans Outdoors has achieved in the past 4 years and I’m looking forward to helping the team continue to build on their success in the months and years to come.”

Amy will join us on 1st October.

THE EXTRA MILE
A huge thank you to all those who took part in the Rehab Triathlon on Plymouth Hoe this year, pushing themselves to the limit as they raised money for Veterans Outdoors. We had 5 different teams raising a total of £870 and if you'd still like to support their efforts you can do so at:
All monies raised go to the support of military veterans and their families.

and an extra 'hero-gram' to Stuart Parkes, another of our beneficiaries, who went on to complete the Outlaw Iron Man challenge in Nottingham, also raising money for Veterans Outdoors.....

Stuart completed the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2m run in 11hrs and 47 mins,
raising an impressive £450 for the charity.

AND.....ACTION!

Our good friends at the Theatre Royal’s OurSpace programme are hosting a 3 day film-making workshop for members of the Armed Forces Community in September. It’s an introductory workshop which will bring together acting, camerawork and editing. The course will be held at TR2 from 9th-11th September. If you are interested in taking part you can contact the team at [email protected]

PENTILLIE HARVEST

A wonderfully colourful array of veg from this year's Autumn Harvest at Pentillie - all of it planted, grown and nurtured by the V.O. veterans' who gather there every Wednesday for cuppas, conversation and cultivation.  Thanks, as ever, to the Coryton family, who continue to allow us to use their precious walled garden.  And if you'd like to join this friendly, supportive cohort please contact Bernard at [email protected]

August and September are traditionally quiet months for Veterans Outdoors – staff and beneficiaries are enjoying holidays and family time during the school holidays. However our Pentillie Wednesdays and Dartmoor Walks are continuing along with some of our Artemis events. See our calendar below for confirmed events and keep your eyes on Social Media for all our upcoming Autumn events.
